- What is your relationship to the natural world?
- My personal relations to the natural world is quite interesting because I believe that we as humans cannot live without nature and that nature builds some bits of entertainment within humans such as parks, forests etc
- Where would you go to see a landscape? Landscape are often seen around places with a lot of greenery and a lot of natural
- Why do people take pictures of nature?
- Can photographs help us to change the way we see things?
The idea of Landscape
In the first image, the photographer had decided to take an image of a desert-like and abandoned looking area. It could be a desert due to its lack of greenery such as trees and plants, however it looks quite sandy and has a lot of rocks. In the second image, the photographer also included a sandy area, but also involved living things such as a man riding on a horse. Furthermore, this landscape also largely focuses on the atmosphere due to the number of clouds shown in the image. The photographers may have taken these images to show how the non-urban parts of the world also play a huge role in their lives. I think the first image was taken from a straight point of view but the second image might have been taken from a low point of view because of the angles in which the clouds were taken from.
I also think the first image was taken from up close because everything looks like it is of its original size and it doesn't necessarily look stretched. However, I think the second image was taken from a distant view but zoomed in just because the clouds seem to be much closer to the ground than usual. One difference that I did notice in the images was that the first image was taken with a monochrome camera, which explains the brownish colour of the image, which gives it a more sad mood because how vintage it looks. However the second image is in colour, although not really bright because cameras were not fully developed like how they are today, which made me think the image was taken from an old movie.

Back to the future
I notice that both landscape photographs capture the presence of water but were taken from different points of view. The first image is a picture of the ocean and it looks like it was taken from an isolated island or a beach. It was also described as taken from separate negatives. However the second landscape is a constructed collage that was created out of colour negatives.
Minimalistic Landscapes
In Geraldo's image, there is a tree which seems to be surrounded by darkness and has some open and empty spots between some of its branches. Liz's image is much more difficult to describe because it is less realistic, however it looks like there is a tree on the left and some sort of branches on the right. Liz used black and white shapes to form this image but it looks incomplete because the tree and branches don't really look like what it was intended to look like. Both images look quite weird and abstract and they give me a feeling of confusion because the images don't necessarily make sense to me.In my opinion, I prefer the image on the left just because I understand what is in the image and it is much more clearer than the image on the right.
